Protest at Trinity College Dublin

A meeting of minds

Letters to the Editor. Illustration: Paul Scott

Sir, – The resolution of the Trinity encampment is a good outcome. The students say the Israeli onslaught in Gaza is unconscionable. They say the Palestinians have suffered too much, and desperately need peace and hope.

Trinity management is listening, hearing and responding with a measure of support. The protest placards and encampments in universities around the world remind us that the courage of Gandhi and the dreams of Martin Luther King continue to inspire this generation of students. We laud their public action for peace in Gaza. – Yours, etc,

SEAN McENTEE,

Dublin 6W.
