A hotel in Dublin is offering guests the chance to win their food on the house if they’re willing to stake their bill on the roll of a dice. Forchetta, a restaurant at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Blanchardstown, will waive the charge for the dishes you’ve eaten if you roll an even number when the time comes to pay – but you’ll have to stump up if you roll an odd number. And, whatever happens, you’ll have to pay for your drinks. The offer runs each day from 6pm until 9pm this month.

A Qantas passenger was questioned by police this week after he threatened to bring down a flight from Sydney to Singapore using the power of his mind. He was restrained two-thirds of the way through the trip after what the airline

called “threatening and disruptive” behaviour. A journalist aboard the flight said fellow passengers believed the man was under the influence of drugs, alcohol or both, and had religious delusions.
