Book of beastly delights

Life can be a little lonesome when you're a beast, so it was a relief to see the eponymous character in The Lonely Beast – a beautiful children's book published in 2011 by illustrator and children's author Chris Judge – make some friends at the end of that adventure.

Now he has moved up in the world and is starring in The Brave Beast , where he tackles all sorts of obstacles to help some islanders in need.

Judge's bright and colourful book is full of shout-aloud descriptions of the Beast's brave journey. It will be launched today at the Lighthouse Cinema, Smithfield Square in Dublin from 11am-3pm.

There'll be treats for kids, and coffee and tea for grown-ups. Judge will also be launching a series of limited edition Beastly Hobbies prints, hand-printed by Damn Fine Prints, on sale for ¤30. See chrisjudge.com
