Lionel Richie at St Anne’s Park, Dublin: Stage times, setlist, ticket information, how to get there and more

Everything you need to know about the singer’s concert on Sunday, June 4th

Few artists have had number one songs for more than a decade straight: Hello. Endless Love. Three Times A Lady. All Night Long. None other than pop royalty Lionel Richie will be in Dublin this weekend for one of the first summer gigs of the season. Between his Las Vegas residency and judging punters on American Idol, Richie has found the time to tour Europe and the US, kicking off his first one in Ireland. With Ireland’s summer firmly showing its colours this week, can we expect the weather to hold up? What will Richie play? And how can you get to the gig?

When does he play?

The show kicks off at 6pm, but with support from English 1980s synth-pop band The Human League (known for Don’t You Want Me) and Irish rockers In Tua Nua, it will likely be some time before Richie graces the stage.

What time should I arrive?

The gates open at 5pm and fans are advised not to turn up early as not to cause disruption around the area prior to the concert.

How do I get there – and home again?

Allow at least an extra two hours travel time to and from the venue. As traffic and delays are inevitable you are strongly advised to use public transport. There are no parking facilities available locally, and towing will be in operation.

What will he play?

Richie’s Dublin gig will be the second in his upcoming European and US tour, with the pop legend playing Belfast the previous evening. With a discography of hits any comparable pop icon would be envious of (Richie had 11 consecutive years where he wrote number one songs in the 1970s and 1980s), there’s no shortage of earworms for Richie and his band to draw from. He played a couple of songs at King Charles’s coronation concert last month, but in his last full gig in Las Vegas last January, here’s what he performed:

  • Running with the Night
  • Easy / My Love
  • Penny Lover
  • You Are
  • Stuck on You
  • Dancing on the Ceiling / Jump
  • Three Times a Lady
  • Sail On
  • Fancy Dancer / Sweet Love / Lady (You Bring Me Up)
  • Just to be Close to You
  • Endless Love

  • All Night Long (All Night)
