Amazon Echo Pop: A smart speaker for bedrooms and compact spaces

It has Alexa built in, but this can be disabled with the touch of a button for the privacy conscious

Group shot of four round Amazon Echo Pop speakers, each sitting on a colour matched pedestal

The Echo Pop, one of Amazon’s newest speakers in its line-up, is designed for smaller spaces. The company is pitching it as ideal for bedrooms and other compact locations, offering you a smart speaker that will blend in with your surroundings. It has Alexa built in, so you have access to content from subscription services such as Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, Audible and others, with just a voice command or two.

The Pop has the familiar light bar that alerts you to the fact Alexa is listening, and there’s a button that will electronically disable the microphone if you have privacy concerns.

It is available in a number of different colours – lavender, teal, charcoal and white – which means the Pop really can, well, pop.
